September 2026: The start of a new academic year is always a busy one. Over the past few months, we’ve been designing and building with our community to make Messenger Pigeon easier to use, more engaging, and better suited to the way students actually learn.
Here’s a look at what’s new, what’s shipped, and what’s coming next.
Messenger Pigeon V2 launched
We launched Messenger Pigeon V2, a major update to your desktop experience.
V2 was shaped by community feedback, user research, and a close look at the small points of friction that can interrupt the study flow. The result is a smoother experience designed to make it easier to capture, organise, and engage with learning.
Help shape the future of Podium Solution
We’re inviting higher education institutions to join our Podium Development Partner Program.
Podium is our on-device AI classroom solution, designed to bring tools like captions, transcription, notes, and text-to-speech directly into the classroom while giving institutions greater control over their technology environment.
Our Development Partner Program allows institutions to try out the latest solutions and help shape what comes next. Through collaboration and feedback, we’re working to make informed decisions about the next generation of learning technology.
We re-released the Quiz feature
We’ve given our Quiz feature an upgrade to make sessions more engaging and interactive.
You can jump straight into a quiz from within a session, giving them a simple way to test their understanding and interact with their learning material. Just tap Quiz within a session to get started.
Video Sessions now come with captions
Captions are now available for video sessions in Messenger Pigeon. Whether you record a video directly in the app or upload an existing video, captions are generated and ready for you to review.
It’s another way we’re making it easier to engage with recorded learning content and revisit information in the way that works best for you.
